Non- fluoridated sea salt is the purest salt and great for cooking and seasoning. Sea salt is harvested in shallow ponds near the ocean here in Ecuador, the shallow ponds evaporate naturally in the sun then the salt is harvested. We periodically test the Sea Salt for microplastics with our laboratory in the USA (EMSL). The coastal areas of the equator are ideal for sea salt production as the sun and wind are constant for much of the year.

In the early 1900’s it was wiped out by a disease, and a century of hybridization followed.  This ancient variety of cacao, “Ancient Nacional”,  was thought to be extinct until recently. Some healthy trees were found still growing wild in the Piedra de Plata region of Ecuador.
